V 2012

While I acknowledge that this is of limited interest to gentlemen with our levels of parental responsibility, any thoughts on the V line up?  *stands back and awaits unbridled scorn*

  1. Curious line-up. Looking at it from an age-range of likely attendees it seems designed for 30somethings to see their old favourites or 15 year olds who didn't get a chance first time round.

I think we'd have been a bit disdainful in our mid-to-late 20s heyday of V attendance.

  2. A mixture of ill-advised come backs, 'modern' acts I either don't like or have never heard of plus two Sunday bill-toppers whose photos should appear in illustrated dictionaries next to the definitions of words such as 'bland', 'ordinary' and 'uninspiring'.

I really don't think this is age or world-weary cynicism speaking. Music was much better 'in my day'.

  3. Is it just me or do The Killers & Snow Patrol play V at least every second year. And considering Gallagher's second billing, do you think he has "a minimum of 3 Oasis songs" in his contract?

  4. Heard a bit of Radconie yesterday. Peter Hook was on, talking about New Order (without him) playing festivals this year. He's pretty miffed - and did comment "They played New Order songs as Bad Lieutenant, but I guess they didn't get many headline slots like that..."
