First album syndrome

Right, I think I've got the e-mail thing sorted. To test that, I'll start off a riveting discussion.

We're all aware that for 99% of bands their first album is their best. But there's a converse to that. Of bands that have gone on and made multiple good albums, I say that for them, the first album is never their best.

Your counter-examples to destroy my theory please...
